Designing for a client, the aim was to create an apartment that catered to the needs of a designer. The site for this project was our classroom, challenging us to utilise the space in order to create the best design. I wanted to create a space that was welcoming and not overwhelming so creating an open space allowed me to do this along with using calming neutral colours, having the open space also allowed for the kitchen and dining to encourage a space for communication.
As the client is a designer it was important to have an office space that allowed them to work on their craft and have enough storage space to cater to their needs having space for design materials and for extra hobbies they may have.
During my time in college I was able to develop my skill in hand drawing plans to scale and drawing to perspective to create a realistic view of the space.
FINDRA BRANDSCAPING DESIGN
OCTOBER 2018
The brief was to design a new shop interior for the brand Findra, Creating two stores for two different sites.
Site 1 – Open concession Area, 4m x 5m – 2 walls 3m high
Site 2 – Small Shop with structural soffit, 5m x 5m sq - 4.5m to soffit
The shop sells outdoor clothing typically targeted towards the female consumer, along with a small section of male clothing. As Findra is mainly targeted to a female audience I have dedicated a large section of the store to the female consumer and a smaller section for the male consumer.
As the shop is based on selling outdoor clothing, I was heavily influenced by nature and topography, which inspired me to create organic shapes and different levels within the store.
