Designing for a client, the aim was to create an apartment that catered to the needs of a designer. The site for this project was our classroom, challenging us to utilise the space in order to create the best design. I wanted to create a space that was welcoming and not overwhelming so creating an open space allowed me to do this along with using calming neutral colours, having the open space also allowed for the kitchen and dining to encourage a space for communication.
As the client is a designer it was important to have an office space that allowed them to work on their craft and have enough storage space to cater to their needs having space for design materials and for extra hobbies they may have.
During my time in college I was able to develop my skill in hand drawing plans to scale and drawing to perspective to create a realistic view of the space.

Hi, my name is Meghan Stewart and I have just completed my BA(HONS) in Interior design at Heriot Watt University, graduating with second class (upper division).
I chose to study Interior design as I have always had a passion for design since a young age, my interest in design stemmed from the desire to create a positive experience within the built environment that can influence day to day lives.
